The Almost Remembered

Perfumer's Note

It begins like a Tuesday afternoon in a summer you can no longer date — the sharp green snap of a backyard garden, a peach half-eaten and abandoned on a porch step. The heart drifts into interiors: the waxy, primary-color smell of a crayon tin left open, floorboards that creak under bare feet, the ghost of a thunderstorm still hanging in the curtains. It dries down into something almost human — a warm, skin-close embrace of tonka and musk, like the fading warmth of a hug from someone whose face you're slowly losing. The feeling is not sadness, exactly. It is the ache of something beautiful you almost still have.
