Alpenwandern

Perfumer's Note

Alpenwandern opens with the piercing clarity of a Swiss morning — cold air rushing over wet ferns, a handful of juniper crushed between your fingers, the sharp green of a meadow still heavy with dew. The heart settles into the shadowed interior of an Arolla pine forest: resinous, waxy, almost meditative, threaded with the delicate bitterness of gentian and the grey-green quietude of lichen on limestone. The dry-down is the smell of a worn wooden walking stick left by the fire — birch smoke, old cedar, and the deep mineral warmth of the earth itself. This is not a perfume of grand Alpine drama; it is the smell of the path less walked, the quiet village, the cowpasture gate left half-open.
